OMIS is a multi-disciplinary management consultancy
founded in 1991 by Brian McDougall.
Work on his first major corporate relocation project
came in 1988 whilst working as a consultant with Jones
Lang Wootton (now Jones Lang LaSalle), resulting in
the decentralisation of 1,200 staff at Barclays Bank
from London to Coventry in the UK. Since its inception,
OMIS has completed over 500 location, relocation
and related projects, enjoying relationships with many
clients that extend over the past 25 years.
The relationship between research and real world practices
has always been crucial to Brian. In the 1980s and 1990s,
he led or participated in several multi-client and fundamental
research programmes including Enterprise Zones in
the UK (DTI), Intelligent Business Environments
(ICL) and The Responsible Workplace (DEGW). OMIS
has also been charting the views of senior executives
on Britain's Best Cities and the Best Locations
for Business globally since the early 1990s.
